WHAT IS STUMP GRINDING AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
A few years back this great technology was invented where a grinding wheel was installed onto a motor and there was born your stump grinding technology. In the past years things sure has advanced quite a bit, but still today just like then, the same general purpose is to remove the tree trunk and the root system without having to dig it out.
Back in the day, conventional tree services would wrap around a chain to their truck axle and simply yank and pull the stump just like a bad tooth. In the process the equipment name and the truck were the ones that got the short end of the stick by damaging the axle after removing several stumps in a season.
So, the practice of removing the tree and leaving the stump began and when they were called upon to remove a tree, it would not include the root system. Leaving the customer with the painstaking task of having an ugly stump sticking out of the ground in their wonderful looking landscape.
Tree service Dallas has put all that to an end with the new and improved stump grinders! So here's the process and how it works..... it's all pretty simple:
1 Identify the stump in question by getting measurements on the tree trunk itself to see which grinding blades will be necessary on the stump grinder. Depending on the girth of the trunk will depend what blade, grinding teeth will be used to remove the stump.
2. After determining what the proper equipment should be for grinding away the stump, it's all fairly easy from there it's just a matter of taking care of the landscape so you don't hurt any of the grass with the grinding stump machine. Most of these machines can weigh heavy and leave track marks in the clients landscape. Extra precautions will be made to lay down wood boards to travel on to get to the stump grinding area. In the process protecting your landscape from tracks and avoiding having to re-sod your grass.
3. The rest of the process is fairly simple, the grinding is done by the machine itself. All the operator has to do is stand there and make sure that none of the landscape gets damaged in the process.
On occasion, several tools might be needed, but in most cases a simple push of a button and pressure by the Operator should be enough to get the job done.
Pricing normally depends on the depth and the length of the actual root system. For a root system that's only 3 to 4 feet you're probably going to be paying anywhere from $90 - $225. For a root system that's much deeper, your local arborist will be able to give you a good estimate before the job is done.
